John and Krissy Hamilton of Bethalto and Toni Burch of Godfrey are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Heather Hamilton, to Brian Maher, son of Patrick and Freda Maher of Alton. Heather is a 2009 graduate of Alton High School and a 2013 graduate of Lewis and Clark Community College. She is employed by Alton Memorial Hospital as a registered nurse. Brian is a 2007 graduate of Alton High School. He is employed by SIU-Edwardsville as an equipment operator. A Sept. 5, 2015, wedding is planned at Emmanuel Free Methodist Church in Alton.
